Hailing from Darlington Hayley McKay is an extraordinarily gifted singer/songwriter with an amazing voice. From studying at BIMM to appearing at Glastonbury, Cornbury and Northumberland Live, performing in Nashville and supporting iconic artists such as Tom Jones, Martha Reeves and Scouting For Girls, Hayley McKay is attracting attention wherever she goes.
2017 was a particularly busy year. Hayley’s debut single – Unspoken – was followed by the second single – The Bottom Of My Heart. Headline gigs have included The Cluny and Durham Gala Theatre with festival appearances at SummerTyne, Hardwick Live, Devizes International Street Festival, Liverpool’s Folk On The Dock and Twisterella.
An undoubted highlight was an invitation to record a live Under The Apple Tree session for the legendary Bob Harris. And there was also a tour to Ireland to round off the year which featured an appearance on RTE1’s Today Show – Ireland’s biggest daytime TV programme.
Hayley will be releasing her next single – Chance To Change – in March followed in April by her debut album.
